How to become a living institution in Dallas’ West End in four easy steps:

Step one: glance down at your Bible and memorize the first three (and only three) words you see.

Step two: make one quarter of a turn so that you’re now facing (North, South, East, West).

Step three: tilt your head back and scream the Three Biblical Words you just memorized (”…FLESH OF ASSES!!…”) at the top of your lungs.

Step four: wash, rinse, repeat (for years and years).

HA! I asked the guy if I could take his photo (I was in pretty close and at an odd angle, so I just felt like I should), and that’s when he asked.

No, I don’t work in the West End, but I’ve known the guy who owns the Awalt building (and his wife) for twelve years or so. In fact, back when he bought it (and before he fixed it all up spiffy-like), my wife’s company was looking for office space and I sent her to him. They became the first tenant, even signing their lease before the owner’s own company did.

So I’m there a bit, including this past Tuesday when I dropped off a referral portfolio for him (or, rather, for his Creative Director) to look at.

Thanks for the compliment on the site– back at ‘ya!

Cool! Well, go downstairs and ask David what he thought of the book I dropped off for him on Tuesday– otherwise I’ll refer its owner to Firehouse! ;)
