Monkey-mail it to the World
Continuing to work on my geek quotient, I’ve implemented additional functionality to Adverb.
You now have the ability to email an article you find here to your friends and family.
Did I write something bemoaning our industry? Send it to your boss!
Did I invent a foul new form of creative cursing? Send it to your children!
It’s fun, it’s free, and it’s as easy as clicking the “Email Article” link found beneath each post.
I should mention that, because I self-host my site, your (and your friend’s) email address won’t be harvested by Typepad or Blogger or any other bloghosting-type service. The only people who know you’re FWD:ing articles will be you and the person you’re sending it to.
There are a few spam/robot-foiling features included (maximum of five recipients, captcha’ code entry requirement and a one-minute wait between emailing individual articles), but you should be able to muddle your way through it all.
Also, carrying through with the whole ad monkey theme, you’ll note that the translation flags over in the right-hand column are now being held by what else? Monkeys.
The way I see it, they up the “cute factor” of Adverb by at least 30% and possibly even call my sexual orientation into question.
I’ll just have to live with it.
