Poker, Streakers and AAUs
It was a gorgeous weekend in Monkey Town.
I played in my regular poker game on Saturday evening and had my little monkey rear handed to me on a plate. Oh well. I’d feel worse if it hadn’t been one of the regular’s birthday that evening (on April Fool’s Day, no less), so at least the money was going to a good cause.
The She Monkey left for Boston on Sunday, so I’ll be a bachelor for the next week. (In other words, I’ll need to dedicate Friday to cleaning up the mess I made before her return.) The day was gorgeous and I actually managed to get a little burn riding around in Matilda.
From the looks of it, the day caused a lot of people to get out and about, including a streaker who interrupted a live broadcast on the local news last evening (Chanel 8, the local ABC affiliate).
Today has been spent in endless meetings going over AAU research for Gatorade (that’s Attitude, Awareness and Usage for the uninitiated) ahead of flying to Chicago tomorrow for a meeting of the minds on Wednesday.
Finally, I had a nice note from Dabitch over at AdLand (celebrating its 10th birthday, by the way) welcoming me back to the blogosphere. She and I used to trade emails back and forth when Adverb v1.0 was up and running and it was quite nice of her to stop by for a visit.

..uh-oh.
Now there’s something I never considered might happen. See, this post is titled “Poker, Streakers and AAUs”, and you link to adland, where i have this tricky little script that rejects clicks from Referal spammers. Dunno if you’ve ever had problems with those shady types, but I’ve had mass-attacks from ref-spammers and am quite sick of getting my logs distorted by them. So, anyone coming from (being reffered by) a URL that conatins, say the word “poker” “viagra” et al, gets directed to a 403 page where they do me and my logs no harm.
But that all just backfired on me, as it means anyone clicking the link to adland in this post gets redirected to that same 403 page. Drats. Never saw that coming. a legit use of the word poker.
